Function of Nanomaterials in Removing Heavy Metals for Water and Wastewater Remediation: A Review

Although heavy metals are typically found in trace levels natural waterways, most of them hazardous to human health and the environment, even at extremely low concentrations. Nanotechnology nanomaterials have gained great attention among researchers as a sustainable route addressing water pollution. Researchers focus on developing novel that cost-effective for use water/wastewater remediation. A wide range adsorbed been fabricated based different forms materials, such carbonaceous nanomaterials, zeolite, polymers, magnetic metal oxides, metallic silica. Hence, this review set out address ability various synthesized nanoadsorbent materials remove ions from wastewater investigate influence functionalization their adsorption capacity separation process. Additionally, effect experimental variables, pH, initial ion concentration, adsorbent dose, contact time, temperature, ionic strength, removal has discussed.
